(for ages 4-8) Come into the shadows and see the light as The Shadow Puppet Workshop weaves together folktales from near and far. Join Daniel Barash in this interactive program and learn how everyone can be a shadow puppeteer. See you in the land of shadows!

Dovie Thomason (Lakota/Kiowa Apache), award-winning storyteller and recording artist, shares traditional stories of her people that gently dispel stereotypes and false media images of the First Nations People of North America. Her stories are windows into her Native culture and mirrors for her listeners to see themselves.

Peek into one of David Beck's sculptures: Movie Palace features characters in action -- eating popcorn, smooching, and watching King Kong on the big screen. Museum was commissioned by the museum and reflects -- in exquisite miniature -- the neoclassical architecture of the building, from the 1840s when it was the U.S. Patent Office to the present day. Afterwards, enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea.

(1961, 103 min., bandw, Japanese with English subtitles, directed by Keisuke Kinoshita) The year is 1932, and a woman, whose fiance is fighting in China, is raped and then forced into marriage with a landowner's son (Nakadai). In four more chapters presented over three decades, their children undertake their own searches for love.
